TL 13 Spacetime Mastery. Governed by GAIA, an S4 archailect (Fourth Singularity). Hardest tech: void bubble manufacturing and displacement cannons (metric engineering). GAIA's Ring of Fire uses magmatter plasma processors (TL 11) in Sol's photosphere. Communication-gauge wormholes and the Einstein Gate traversable wormhole (TL 12). Void bubble factories in the inner restricted zone push to TL 13. No pocket/basement universes, since GAIA is S4, not S6. GAIA controls access and maintains the system as a protected preserve.
The "Solar System" is often referred to as "Solsys," and it serves as a central setting for the speculative science fiction narrative. Key features:
Advanced Technology: Solsys in Orion's Arm is characterized by advanced and often transhuman-level technology. Nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, and advanced biotechnology are commonplace, drastically altering the way societies function and allowing for the colonization of numerous celestial bodies.
Diverse Inhabited Worlds: Solsys hosts a wide range of inhabited celestial bodies, including planets, moons, space habitats, and megastructures. Each of these has its own unique culture and technology, representing a variety of transhuman and posthuman societies.
Posthuman Entities: Posthumans, beings who have evolved beyond typical human capabilities through genetic engineering, cybernetics, and other enhancements, are common in Solsys. These entities often possess extended lifespans and unique abilities, contributing to the diversity of the setting.
Political Complexity: The solar system is divided into various political polities, mega-corporations, and alliances, all vying for power and influence. This political complexity shapes the societal landscape of Solsys, leading to conflicts and alliances among these entities.
Exploration and Discovery: Solsys is a hub for exploration and discovery, with expeditions to distant star systems and encounters with alien civilizations. It is a place of constant scientific exploration and expansion into the cosmos.
